Beechill School
Monaghan Town

McGarry Ni Eanaigh Architects were quite concise in their brief for the refurbishment of the existing PVC roof membrane to the Beech Hill College building in Monaghan. Detailed drawings were available for every condition and the design had carefully considered the details for the new Sarnafil 1.8mm membrane  .

The roof layout comprised of numerous slopes and flat roof areas with varied pitches and plan shapes. Steps between roofs had a wide spread and the new installation would be quite a challenge. In addition, the Architects desired a Sarnafil finish to the fascia with décor profile standing seams vertically.

This project would demand the highest quality workmanship. Working with membrane and tensioning the details from one plane to another was technically very difficult, all the while adhering to Sarnafil’s detail principles.

The finished project turned out exceptional and we achieved exactly what the Architects had envisaged. The lines of the fascia were sharp and mimicked a metal traditional standing seam. The roof was free from any defects on completion. The school recognised a noticeable change in the internal environment and their heating bills had significantly reduced over the winter months.

We are very proud to be part of this complex project completed partially during school term in a live environment with students and staff continuing with their education.

As well as the main roof works we also completed small building works as part of the project and the school underwent a stunning transformation.
