75,000 sqm Sika Sarnafil Fully adhered roofing system.
15,000 sqm of Kingspan Topdek.
The Data Centre project in Clonee, Co. Meath was a significant project for the Deane Roofing group. The Irish office joined resources with the UK office to manage a special high-profile project with a very tight schedule. The project was managed by MACE International.
The scope of works included roofing 90,000 sqm of Sika Sarnafil fully adhered membrane system over two main data halls and a connecting administration building. Each data hall was divided up into 5 sections with two sections starting simultaneously and the next section starting within 4 weeks of the first. The resourcing was challenging as the project did not commence in June and therefore the schedule for roofing would run through the winter months.
Throughout the roof, a large number of pop up plant housings were repeated symmetrically along the length of the roof. These plant housings were constructed and roofed at ground level and hoisted into position at certain milestones in the schedule. The plant housings were then sealed in position.
The access to the plant housings consisted of a raised access platform which was supported on steel stub columns. There were over 1200 of these throughout the roof and they were designed as a two-stage weathered system, before the platform and after. This would mean working in restricted spaces yet maintaining the quality of workmanship.
Over the roof plant, a central corridor secondary roof was built in Kingspan Topdek panels to provide a protective canopy. This roof which added up to a significant roof area was programmed at a later date in the schedule which created certain logistical challenges as well as various safe system of work considerations.
Despite the challenges, we consistently met our targets and the project was finished well in advance of our milestones and to the quality the client expected.
